My current work is the result of the previous series En alta frecuencia (In High Frequency), where I focused on the ability of quartz to combine universality as a fractal model of geometric forms with high symmetry. Like a hall of mirrors in an infinite range of translucent colors, quartz serves the dual function of reflecting the delicate architecture of nature while suggesting a pictorial revelation of the precise formula of creation.Through pseudo-sculptural pieces, my new series Cuarzos y cristales (Quartzes and Crystals) aims to explore more deeply that space where the infinite converses with the finite, guiding the gaze from the density of the mineral to the elasticity of the universe.

Each of these works suggests a stolen glimpse of the Borgesian Aleph, the place where, without confusing, all the places of the globe are seen from all angles. In these pictorial representations of the concept of the infinite set, I establish a spatial game between the abstraction of a macroscopic view of the crystal and images of the cosmos and plant life. In the apparent chaos of a multiplicity of approaches to our environment, I seek the order of things within the mysterious mathematics contained in a piece of crystal.
